Martin Ahern Obituary

Martin " Duane" Ahern, age 68, of Harper, TX passed away June 11, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin Vincent Ahern and Roberta Lois Ahern. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ahern; his daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy & Brian Owen & Jill & Gardale Hatley; his grandson Samuel Hatley; and his step-son, Parker Daniel. He is also survived by his sister Mollie Germino and her family. Duane grew up in Burlingame, CA, served our country in the U.S. Army, and then attended college at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, where he began a career as a rodeo cowboy. He later moved to Texas where he married and raised his family. He was a true outdoorsman who relished life on his ranch. He devoted his professional life to working in the sporting goods industry; and in his personal life, he enjoyed deer and dove hunting, as well as fishing in the great outdoors. He is a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Funeral services were held at St. James Lutheran Church in Harper, TX on June 14, 2008. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Burlingame, CA followed by interment at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Colma, CA.
