I don't think it was a coincidence that I received this email asking to remember Miguel. IO was just thinking and talking about him a few days ago. Although I only knew and worked with Miguel a couple of years at the House of Representatives, he had a big impact on me. He was very calm and determined. He was a person I could trust. We both went through the same stress together and supported each other. A true friend. He loved his family and spoke of them often. After we both left the House, I was in contact, looking for opportunities that would allow us to work together again. His passing was a total shock, but was also a huge loss as we need more Miguel's around us.
Washington, DC in 2013.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to Miguel's family. Miguel and I were classmates at St. Joseph for 7 years. He was the only member of our class that I met up with personally since 1984. The news of his passing has really affected me. I remember him as a really fun and nice kid in school, who became an outstanding man. RIP Miguel.

I knew Miguel from his time in Washington, DC since we were neighbors together downtown.
And I had the pleasure of working with him on a business project. I was so impressed by his thoroughness, professionalism, sense of humor and graciousness.
I am still in shock and deeply saddened by his sudden departure. He was a truly wonderful person and I am grateful that I had the chance to know him.

I was very fortunate to have had Miguel as a classmate for three years in St. Joseph elementary school. He was fun to be with and a inspirational leader and speaker to many of us.

I had the pleasure and honor of working with Miguel at the House Ethics Committee. I was very shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. He spoke often of his family and California, where I was also from, and loved you all very much. God Bless you all.
