Patricia Jean Hess
A rosary for Patty will be held Friday evening, November 8 at 7 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, at So. Church St. in Grass Valley. Services will be held Saturday, November 9, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Grass Valley. Graveside services to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Grass Valley.
Patty passed away Saturday, November 2, in Grass Valley. She was 53. We will all miss her greatly.
Patty was born August 15, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, to Ray and Dorothy Slupe. She moved to California in 1952. Patty graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1967. She worked at Wells Fargo Bank in Oakland. She married her husband Thomas P. Hess, June 27, 1970, and had two beautiful daughters, Paula Lee and Michele Lynn before they moved to Nevada City in 1976 and bought Peterson's Corner. She later worked as a dispatcher until 2002. She loved traveling, gaming, music, plants and her dog 'Butler'. She was a wonderful, loving, selfless mother who lived for her granddaughters and will live on in their memories and in all who loved her. God bless you Patty.
Patty is honored by her family which includes husband, Thomas Peter Hess of Penn Valley; mother and father Ray and Dorothy Slupe of Carson City, Nevada; daughter, Paula Lee Beyer and son-in-law Justin Owens Beyer of Penn Valley; daughter Michele Lynn Hess of North San Juan; granddaughters Lauren Patricia Beyer and Temma Keana Farrell; and a grandson due in January 2003 to daughter Michele and Conor Stark Farrell. We all love you 'Nanna'. She is also survived by sister Catherine Louise Hess and husband Mike of Martinez, CA; sister Raetta Lee Tokuda and husband Blake of Fairfield, CA; brother Larry Slupe and wife Cheri of Shingle Town, CA; sister Theresa Marie Morgan and husband Larry of Longview, WA; sister Susan Lynn Allison and husband Randy of Martinez, CA. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Memorials to: American Cancer Society or charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of The Chapel of the Angels of Grass Valley.

Patty, I really miss you. I hope you are doing well and are watching over your grandchildren cuz I know you loved them so so much. You are such a wonderful person, sister and friend and I will miss how you would always make all of us laugh. This isn't fair. You were the best sister out of all of us. I love you.
