RIP Pat. God Bless his family. We were in the Army having served together both at Ft Campbell as well as in Germany in the late `70s. He was a good man and we had many good times. Wish I could have caught up with him before he passed.

I met Pat at Big 5 in the mid 1990's, we were both managers. He always had a bright smile and witty sense of humor. He was a big guy with a big heart, always willing to help out and say just the right thing to pick up your spirits. I am happy to see he had a son, I know family was really important to him and I bet he was the best Dad. Rest in peace Pat.

I met Pat on Jury duty a few years back. We were on a jury together for months in Martinez. I will always remember his well grounded opinions for the circumstances at hand. His thoughts on the case were never swayed emotionally. I looked up to him, I knew he was a very good man (knew this very quickly). I would occasionally see him around town and he would always make me feel like a good friend that he had not seen in awhile. He would always tell me proudly about his family first.
When I saw this in the paper my heart dropped.
Why do the good ones go so soon? =(

My name is John Ober, Pat was a friend of mine from many years ago. We first met working at the Black Angus Restaurant (in the early 90's) where we worked the bar with Jorge and Nate, he knew me as Woody.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this note Pat was a good and solid friend. We had many laughs and shared many unique experiences. He was a true friend, when Pat was your friend, you had someone special in your life.
I will always remember him, I will always remember the fun that we had, I will always remember his smile and sense of adventure.
I am truly sorry for your loss, my heart is sad to know that he is not with us anymore. The world has lost a good man a man that, no matter how you met him, often times made an impression and left you in a better place than you were before.
Denise and Curtis, please accept my heartfelt and sincere condolences.
