Resident of Clayton
Powell McDaniel departed this life on Wed, May 25. A graduate of De Paul University the American Institute of Banking, he retired as Deputy Regional Director for the U.S. Dept. of Commerce's Minority Business Development Agency. He leaves his wife, Lillian and daughters, Kelly Piper.
Viewing, Sun, May 29 from 3-6pm at Dan Scales Funeral Services, 107 W. 8th St., Pittsburg. Services to continue in Los Angeles.

To the McDaniel Family, I have very fond memories of Powell. I met him at work and quickly hit it off. I found him to be genuine and felt at ease speaking to him about anything. We would meet for cigarette breaks every day and just talk about work and family. He was very proud of his dauthers and wife. He would often speak of your academic accomplishments and your worldly travels, and his face lit up when speaking of you. He was a dear man and I miss my friend. Rest in peace...Lupe Sanchez

Our condolences to the McDaniel Family.
We met Laddie when we migrated to Gary, Indiana in the 60s and experienced his friendship. We were saddened to learn of his passing and wish God's blessings on his family.

I did not get to visit very often when your parents came down to visit but when I did, I always felt loved and welcomed!
When I would see your Dad, I could always see the love and pride he had for his family in his eyes.

My deepest condolences to the family. Powell was a good friend of mine, and he often spoke about his family with such pride and joy. During my trying times, he was a great source of strength and inspiration. I will miss him so. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Uncle Laddie, there are no words to describe how much you were loved by me and my friends. You are with your heavenly family now. We wanted to remember you with the excellent BQ, your laughter and advise. I truly treasure our last talk that you and I shared. I count myself blessed to have known Mr. McDaniel. He would give these serious looks and I would say something to make him smile, then he would assume "the look" again. He definately loved the ladies and the puppy in his life. You all were his joy. He was a great example of a loving father. May Peace and comfort find you during these difficult times. Love you All...
