Richard Caratti Obituary

RICHARD JOSEPH LINCOLN CARATTI Family and numerous friends will remember Richard Wednesday as a kind, generous man who made everyone feel appreciated. He died Friday after a long battle with cancer at the age of 74. Richard was a lifelong resident of Livermore. Born January 14, 1928, he is the youngest son of Aquilino & Josephine Caratti originally from Switzerland. Richard attended school at St. Michaels and St. Mary's in Berkeley. The Caratti Family opened the Joseville hotel and grocery store in 1914, where Richard began working as a young boy. My wife and I just learned of the death of our friend Richard Caratti. All of us at our restaurant looked forward to his visits. Richard always had a smile and kind word. We are truly saddened and we will miss him. All that knew him are better off for having had the pleasure and good fortune. Richard, may God bless and keep you.
