It is now 2021 and I still listen to Richard Carlson in YouTube now and again whenever I need a lift. There is so much of what he says that I can relate to in my life- yet every time I listen to him I learn something new and always feel relaxed and grateful. Your legacy will live in forever as your advice is first class. I assume your kids were quite young when you tragically passed but I hope they took your advice and have been grateful for your wisdom and the help you have given others. We are all here for a reason, and yours was to improve peoples lives. You have definitely done that, although you passed a long time ago your legacy remains. Thank you and God bless your family too.

Dear Kris, I read your and Richard's Don't Sweat... Books years ago and have cherished them. My daughter just gave me a Coor of You Can Be Happy since I've been experiencing a lot of unhappiness. As Im reading it, I decide to took up and see just who this wonderful, wise and incite full man is only to see he passed tragically nearly 10 years ago leaving you and your daughters and the world way too soon. I am shocked but what a blessing to know that he still speaks to people and is dramatically changing people's lives. I pray you and your daughters find great peace and happiness knowing his inciteful work lives on and is not time bound by pop culture, politics or circumstances... It is truly timeless. Bless you all.

The memorial site for Richard is amazing. I found it on a wikipedia link. I too thought that Richard was still here- that's something shared by many (in not realising he had passed over)that he is still around us healing & checking in on the earth plane. Thankyou so much to his wife who allows us to be part of his memorial service. I really enjoyed reading Jazzas contribution. My dad too died young. I know in my heart & soul that these special people have somewhere else to go. That there is more than we know here. That many more great things happen after this life and our Angels are their now doing good; and they are living in another beautiful world and heaven.
Bless Richard and his amazing family.
with Thanks

I read your husband's books and tapes many years ago when I was going through some very stressful times. They made me feel so much better. I am 51, Richard's similar age, and I had no idea that he had died. I was watching Oprah tonight, and there you were with your children. Again, it must have passed me by, but I did not know of his sudden death. I was shocked, mortified and felt awful and all I had done was read some of his books. I did not know him personally That means he was quite a guy and it came through in his books. I tell my kids all the time, live in the moment. This is why.

My condolences a year later to you and your family.

To the family of Richard Carlson: I tuned in to Oprah today, 12/5/07 and was suprised to find out that Mr. Carlson passed away last year. I was on vacation when this happened. I have been inspired by his "Don't Sweat the small stuff, it's all small stuff. I have a coffee mug with this expression and a calendar. I admired his passion for living and loving. God's looking out for the family that lives on. Live life as if there is no tomorrow has new meaning. Merry Christmas as we celebrate Christ's birth.

I can say that I am lucky enough to have met Richard. Richard was, and still is one of the smartest men I will ever meet.

I knew him through his daughter, Jazzy. Jazzy and I were as close as you can possibly get. The year of 2006 was a very hard year for me, I had many problems go on in my life. Just like Jazzy was, Richard and the rest of the family were ALWAYS there for me, no matter what.

There is not a single day that goes by in my life that I don't think about what a wonderful man he was.

My deepest condolences go out to all of the Carlson family and all of their friends.

It is an amazing gift to be able to change people’s lives with a book. Two authors did this for me. Norman Vincent Peale is one. Richard Carlson is the other. At a time when my life seemed overwhelming, his words inspired me. Not only have I learned to live a more peaceful life, I have dedicated myself to helping others the way Richard helped me. I am currently studying to become a therapist. I hope you all can take some solace in knowing that Richard Carlson was an inspiration to millions and some of those millions will go on to inspire even more. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Dear Kristine, Jazzy and Kenna,

Your loving husband/dad completed his mission early in life. He is gone physically but spiritually he will be with you every step of the way. "To live in the hearts of others is not to die." Richard will live in the hearts of millions for many generations! Thank you for providing him the space and encouragement to write - the world is a better place because of that.

May his soul rest in eternal peace and may you have the courage and strength to bear his loss and continue his wonderful message. Amen

Thinking of you, Kris, and your family at this difficult time.

Richard has left an absolutely wonderful legacy of positive-yet-realistic thoughts to live by in all of his books to which I have turned once again for a Christmas gift for a friend this year. Kris has been doing some wonderful writing herself. Perhaps more to come there too?

May we all feel honored and privileged to have had such a wonderful thinker among us who also took the time to put those thoughts into print. Richard lives on through his books and the wonderful memories his family, other loved ones, and all of us have of him.

Richard, I can't wait to read Don't Get Scrooged. I know it is another great one.

Peace and joy to you, m'friend. You have arrived.

December 18, 2006

God bless you and keep you Mr. Carlson. I am sure that I speak for many when I say that although we will try not to "sweat the small stuff" over the course of the rest of our lives, we will miss your guidance to remind us not to.

I am so very, very, deeply sad to hear this terrible news. My best 'life philosophies” came from him. My favorite one, which I use all the time, was "Will this (problem) matter one year from now"? And, I am sure that his death is an instance that will – indeed - matter one year from now, and beyond, for his dear family and friends. But, for the 'small stuff' which I worry about in my daily life, his words guide me immensely. He was a wonderful man, and I am sure a wonderful family man. I just love his writings.

We attended a lecture of Dr. Carlson at Christ the King Church. It was standing room only. So inspirational but the main thought that I repeat a lot to friends was attributed to his wife who was accompanying him to a party. He was kind of reluctant to go to the party because they might not have a good time. His wife told him "if you're not going to have a good time, then wait 'til you get there not to have a good time". I'm reminded of this so often when folks are complaining of events in the future. We certainly enjoyed all his words and those of Mrs. Carlson. Our sympathy to the family and his friends.
