Richard Francis "Bubba" Horan

Richard "Bubba" Francis Horan May 2, 1940 - March 18, 2007 Resident of Walnut Creek Beloved husband of Marilyn Horan, brother of James Horan and wife Peggy, proud and loving father of Col. Richard Horan, Barbara Schneider-Mergens, and Bob Horn. Father-in-law to Barbara, Jim and Patrice. He was a devoted and loving grandfather of Jean, Michelle, Kori, Kelli, Britani, and Ashley. He was born in San Francisco and graduated in 1958 from Archbishop Riordan High School. He was proud of his accomplishments as 1st string All City football guard. He was later inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame. He helped run the family business in his early career and later owned a number of small businesses. He enjoyed hunting and fishing; his beloved 49ers and Giants; the GOP; and telling a good joke. Later in life he was an avid senior tennis player and enjoyed playing and competing with his friends at both the Big C and Pleasant Hill tennis clubs. He took great pride in his family and celebrated the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 12:00 noon at Oak Park Hills Chapel, 3111 N. Main St., Walnut Creek, CA.
