Rita Douglas Obituary

Rita Douglas
Jun. 9, 1951 - Dec. 20, 2016
Brentwood
Rita Ursula Douglas, 65, lost her long and courageous battle with breast cancer on Dec. 20, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Rita was born in Karlsruhe, Germany; and met and married Mark in Nov. 1993, calling Portugal and then Dublin, CA home until recently settling in Brentwood. She loved her ancestry and made several online food purchases throughout the year just for a 'little taste of home'. Outspoken, Rita never backed away from defending her beliefs. She was kind, gracious, and generous and always had a never-ending smile. She will be remembered as a dedicated mother and wife who adored her family and would do anything for them.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Oskar and Halina Wittling, sister Annelore and father-in-law Ted Douglas. She is survived by her husband Mark, sons Rene' and Erik, daughter-in-law Yvonne, step-son Ryan, mother-in-law Verla and adorable granddaughter Willow Stockman (her sunshine); as well as her grand doggie Tough.
Her wishes were to be cremated, with a celebration of her life held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to her granddaughter's education fund at ScholarShare.
