Robert Eden Obituary

Robert C. Eden
Bob Eden, a 42-year resident of Walnut Creek and Concord, died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer November 27, 2002, age 70. Bob was born in Williams, California on August 16, 1932. A 1949 graduate of Yuba City High School, Bob went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army. He was a Sergeant and worked at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. In 1957 he completed his bachelor degree at San Jose State University. Many of Bob's accomplishments include: attaining the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14; President of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at San Jose State; Vice President of Sons in Retirement of California; member of the Board of Directors of Diablo Bonsai Club; and a member of the East Bay Bonsai Society. Bob enjoyed golfing, stamp collecting, international travel, working on his Bonsai and coaching little league. Bob worked in management at Del Monte Corporation for 34 years. Bob will be remembered for his kind manner, his sense of humor and his willingness to help others. He was an inspiration to so many who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his dedicated wife, Lou; his loving daughter, Janna; his son, Terry; his daughter-in-law, Valarie; grandson, Zachary; brother, Ed Eden of Yuba City; his sister-in-law, Sheila; nephew, Andy; and niece, Karen. Services will be private. The family is requesting that donations be made in Bob's honor to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 12676, Oakland, CA 94604.
