Robert J. Langren

1916 - 2008 Resident of Alameda Robert Langren passed away on April 23, 2008 at the age of 91. Dearly beloved husband of 68 years to Mary Langren. He was a loving father to Roberta, Mary Louise (deceased) and Elizabeth. Cherished grandfather to Steven and Lisa and caring great-grandfather to Trevor and Tyler. Robert was a native of Alameda and where he resided his entire life. He was an Alameda High School alumni. He served in the Merchant Marines. He was a devoted employee of Chick Manufacturing Company for 36 years. While employed at Chick, Robert invented and patented many pieces of orthopedic operating equipment. Robert's passions included automobiles and keeping abreast of the history of the San Francisco Bay Area, including the bay bridges, ports and water ways. He enjoyed traveling and finding new points of interest to visit. Robert will be remembered for his honest, patient giving and caring manner, plus his high integrity and strong family values.
