Rose Crosetti Obituary
April 26, 1923 - July 4, 2017
Resident of Walnut Creek
Rose was born on April 26, 1923 to Antonio and Grace Catucci in Oakland. She was proud of her immigrant parents & loved her childhood in Oakland. Rose attended St. Columbas Elementary, Presentation High School and completed one year at the University of California at Berkeley. She spoke with fondness of her work years at UC Berkeley.
She married William Crosetti in 1952 and was a devoted partner until his death in 1983. Their children and grandchildren were the highlights of her life: Douglas d. 1984 (Vivian Dittmann Sarubbi), Rosalind Christenson, Richard (Pete Kushmeider), and Monica Lalanne (Jim Lalanne). She was the adored grandmother of Max and Jerrad Lalanne, and Gina and Lucas Christenson. It was with great sadness that she lost her sister Jeanne Rixon in 1982.
She is survived by her immediate family, and cousins locally and in Cassano Delle Murge, Italy.
Rose was the ultimate entertainer, seamstress and cook and was truly the matriarch of her family. She was immensely loved and will be greatly missed.
Rose was a devoted Catholic and was a longtime parishioner at both Corpus Christi in Piedmont and St. Monica's in Moraga. Heartfelt thanks goes out to the staff at Byron Park. While her stay there was very short, her spirit flourished with new activities. Any donations should be directed to Lucile Packard Children's Cardiology at Stanford Hospital.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30a.m. on Wednesday, July 12th, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 1640 Addison Street, Berkeley. Private burial to follow.
