Sara Miller Obituary

Sara E. Miller March 29, 1917 - Sept. 20, 2005 Sara was born 88 years ago in Gloucester, NJ to Jack Kreps and Mary Van Dexter. Ever since her youth, Sara was a strong and hard-working woman. She spent eight years working for the railroad in the late '30s-early '40s and in retail in the '50s and '60s. Sara married the love of her life, Raymond Miller, in 1946. The two soon embarked on a four-year road trip across the country in search of the best place to start a family. The lovely couple settled in St. Petersburg, FL, then finally settling in El Cerrito, where they built their home and raised their family. During this time, Sara was a member of the Eastern Star Women's Group and a longtime member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in El Cerrito. Sara leaves a legacy of love, many fond memories, and her faithful family. She is survived by her two devoted sons, Randall Miller and his lovely wife, Sherri, of El Cerrito and Brian Miller of Tacoma, WA; five adorable grandchildren, Courtney Allen, and Monica, Veronica, Christopher and Anthony Miller; and two precious great-grandchildren, Destiney and Sarah Miller. A funeral mass will take place at St. John the Baptist Church in El Cerrito on Monday, September 26, beginning at 10:30am. The committal will follow at Rolling Hills Memorial Park in Richmond. Sara was truly a lovely woman and an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She will be sorely missed! Wilson & Kratzer Chapel of the Mission Bells (510) 232-6552

I am so sorry I missed the obituary in the newspaper. Aunt Sara was a wonderful, kind, loving human being and I will always remember growing up and our visits to Stoverdale and loving to visit her. She was such a dear, kind person. My thoughts and prayers are sent to her family

Our "Sotsie", what a remarkable woman. Thank you for being a wonderful mother to Bradley, a loving and kind mother-in-law to me, and terrific grandmother to Matthew and Brooke. I love you like my own mother. I'm sad that we can no longer be together right now, but happy for your joy, as you reunite with Brick and your family. As I'm sure you were very much aware of, your memorial service was splendid, all the people there to pay tribute to you. We love you yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

God Bless,

Barb Miller

I remember you best sitting at the kitchen table at our house. Your grand kids playing in your hair and you singing songs. The joy of your presence was undeniable. It restored my faith in family, in togetherness and in loving kindness. I will miss you very much. xxo

I've lost one of my dearest friends. Tonight, at her viewing, I felt like I needed to ask her, Is that so and so's daughter and she would tell me. Sotsie was bright, clever and full of love, an amazing mother and grandmother. Her sense of humor never failed to make me smile. She adored her family. She was a wonderful cook and gardener. I am so glad she is resting comfortably. I know this sounds trite, but she looked beautiful tonight.Bye Aunt Sotsie, Love always, Nancy, Gary, Gary Jr. Jenny and Jason, Lisa, Katie and Steve, Julia, Emma, Zackary and Owen. sleep well !my friend, I will miss you forever!

She is the grandmother of my best friend when we were growing up. We would visit her many times. She always had a smile and a laugh to share. She was sweet.
