Thomas Fogarty Memoriam
US Army SSG Thomas Kent Fogarty
Jan. 27, 1982 - May 6, 2012
Tommy was the cherished son of Thomas A. Fogarty and Stephanie and Michael Fisher all of Alameda. He is survived and forever mourned by his beloved sons, Kellan and Caden Fogarty as well as his dear brother Rory, sister-in-law Katie, and nephew Conor Thomas Fogarty. Tom is deeply loved and never forgotten by his large family of aunts, uncles, cousins and maternal grandparents David Howe and Linda Lee.
Tommy also left behind many dear friends in Alameda, across the country, and around the world. His memory is honored by them and his US Army "Battle Buddies" from the 3-69 AR 3rd ID, Ft. Stewart GA, 1st Cavalry Division, HHT. Killeen TX, the 25th ID 3-509 (ABN) Ft. Richardson AK, and the So. Cal Recruiting Battalion of Huntington Beach, CA.
Tom served 8 years in the Army after completing bootcamp at Ft. Benning GA in 2004. He served 3 Active Duty tours in the Middle East, 2 in Iraq totaling 26 mos. and his final tour in Afghanistan where he was killed by a roadside bomb on May 6, 2012 while on a security patrol in support of the Afghan Army near the Pakistan border in Paktya Province.
On this 3rd anniversary we wish to thank all of our friends, neighbors and supportive citizens here in Alameda and across the US who donated to the fund set up on behalf of Kellan and Caden's future education needs. We are humbled by your thoughtfulness and generosity. We also wish to thank all who made contributions in Tom's memory to the very important programs that support our soldiers and their families. These programs are vital to their healing and well being after service to our country.
