Vernadine Vinella

Daughter of Attilio and Louise Capurro, lifelong resident of Oakland. Preceded in death by husband, Paul, and daughter, Diane. Survived by son, Paul (Gayle), son Michael (Jim), daughter Susan (Bill), son Andrew, and granddaughters Rebecca, Amanda, Emma, and Anna.Greatly loved by numerous relatives, friends, and neighbors, she will be greatly missed by all of them.She was an excellent cook and homemaker, known for her Italian specialties and her cookies which she shared with the children of the neighborhood.During WWII she was employed at Moore Drydock as a key punch operator.She was a 70 year member of St Jarlath's Parish where she was an active member of the Mother's Club and later in the senior citizen's center at the church.Most of all she was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family was the most important thing in her life.There will be a mass of Catholic Burial on Sept. 20th, 11am, at St. Jarlath's Church, 2620 Pleasant St. Oakland Ca. Burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward. Donations can be made in Vernadine's name to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
