Yoshi Ushijima passed away peacefully at her home in San Leandro on Dec. 23, 2021, at the age of 91 yrs with her son Glenn at her side. Yoshi was born in Fukuoka-ken, Japan. She married Sadato Ushijima in 1956. They moved to San Francisco, Ca, eventually residing in their San Leandro home since 1964. Among her hobbies, Yoshi loved bonsai, ikebana (floral arrangement), shuji (Japanese calligraphy). She was also an avid A's fan. Yoshi was preceded in death by her husband, Sadato. She is survived by her only son Glenn, by her sisters Fumi and Toshie, brother Masatoshi and their families residing in Japan. A small private service is planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any charity of your choosing.
