Gabriel Parson Obituary

Gabriel "Kirk" Parson, 46, died December 5, 2007 at his home after his courageous battle with leukemia. Memorial services for friends and family will be Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 2:00 PM at Heald United Methodist Church, McLean, TX, with Rev. Thacker Haynes officiating.
Kirk was born September 23,1961, in Canyon, TX. He graduated High School in Clovis, NM, and attended college at West Texas University in Canyon, TX.
August 3, 1990, Kirk and Janna Inman were married in Las Vegas, NV, and so began their family with daughter Libby Hammerbeck now of Oklahoma City, OK and son Tanner Hammerbeck now of Farmington, NM. They were also blessed with a granddaughter, Paisley Anne.
Kirk is the son of surviving parents, JoAnn and Monte Bowen of Rockport, TX and Gabe and Cozy Parson of McLean, TX, and Big Brother to Justin Parson of Farmington, NM.
Kirk's family was his friends and friends were his brothers and sisters. He was a son who lived his belief in Honor thy parents. He was a father who, with strong convictions, gently taught his children to love nature, respect life, and live your dream. Because of his giving spirit and nurturing love, Kirk was a model husband to surviving wife, Janna.
Through actions, Kirk taught us all the meaning of tenacity, courage, friendship and love.
His family suggests memorials to be to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Kirk! What can I say. I loved you from the very beginning. You and Justin seemed to be part mine because I stayed with you so much. You brought a lot of love, joy and laughter into my life. I dearly love you, even though you poured salt and coke in my hair. I guess that is the reason it is white now.I'll never forget you as a baby, a boy, a young man and a dad. I will see you later and we can laugh together again.

What a great man he was! A huge hole was left in my heart knowing he would have to beat the Leukemia he had. He will always be remembered and kept in our hearts forever. His memories will always touch our lives, as did he.

I am blessed to have such a wonderful father brought into my life! Pop has taught me so much and allowed me to be the woman I am. Without his leardership and compassion in my life I would not be me. The day Mom chose him to be in her life is one of the luckiest days of my life. I'm so greatful for the greatest man I've EVER known. I miss you and love you! Thank you for all you have done.
