Geneva "G.G." Daugherty Obituary

Funeral services for Geneva (G.G.) Gail Daugherty, 77, of Elida, were at 2:00 PM on Monday September 24, 2012, at the Elida Methodist Church with Rev. Beth Anthony officiating. Burial followed at Elida Cemetery with her grandchildren as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are all her family and friends.
Geneva was born at the family ranch near Elida on November 2, 1934, to Kary P. and Vera M. (Myers) Wall and went to be with the Lord on September 21, 2012, in Clovis. She was raised in Elida and graduated from Elida High School in 1952. In 1953, she married Bob Daugherty in Elida and the two ranched and raised their family in the Elida area. Bob passed in 1975 and she became a bookkeeper for the school system. Geneva was a very devoted member of the Elida Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women's Association and member of the Eastern Star. She was always very active in the Elida community. Most of all she was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to all.
Geneva is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bob.
She is survived by her sons, Jim Daugherty and wife, Cathy of Elida, Donald Daugherty of Roswell, Mark Daugherty and wife, Sandy of Tatum, and Alan Daugherty of Melrose. Also surviving her is her brother, Kary Darrell Wall and wife, Betty of Las Cruces and a sister, Oleta Salopek of Las Cruces; her grandchildren, Payton Daugherty and wife, Heather, Shay Daugherty, Amanda Daugherty, Sean Daugherty, Breanna Daugherty, Kassandra Daugherty, and Jessica Daugherty; and a great-grandchild, Lauren Daugherty also survives her.
A special thanks to the memory unit at Wheatfield's Senior Living Community for the love and care they gave her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Elida Methodist Church, P.O. Box 148, Elida, NM 88116 or the Elida Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 208, Elida, NM 88116.

Jim and Family,
So sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. She was one more neat lady. I always loved her dearly. Just this minute learned of her passing -- long after the funeral services. If we can be of any help to you in anyway, please do not hesitate to give us a call.
