Robert E. Wilson Obituary

Robert E. "Bob" Wilson, 92, of Bovina died Wednesday, August 31, 2011, in Friona. Funeral Services have been scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 3, 2011, at the Bovina United Methodist Church in Bovina with Rev. Larry Mitchell, Pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors following in the Bovina Cemetery by Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.
 Mr. Wilson was born September 5, 1918, in Amarillo, Texas to Frank Poyntz and Iris Guy Kirk Wilson. He married Althea Hastings December 2, 1942, in Columbia, South Carolina. He served in the United States Army during WWII, attended Texas Tech, was an area farmer and rancher, part owner in the Bovina Feeders, a past Director of the First Bank of Bovina, member of the Bovina United Methodist Church where he held many church offices and was a faithful choir member and singer in the Living Christmas Tree in Friona.
 He is preceded in death by his parents and by his wife.
 Survivors include  3 daughters, Ann Wilson-Kingsley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Candy Dyer of Georgetown, Texas, and April Gober of Farwell; 1 son, Kregg Wilson of Bovina; 1 sister, Wanda Rogers of Friona; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
 Memorials can be made to the Bovina United Methodist Church Building Fund P.O. Box 127 Bovina, Texas  79009.
