Thomas Lee Pleasant

Thomas Lee Pleasant, age 72, of Clovis, N.M., died Sunday, Feb 25, 2007, at his home in Clovis. He was born on Oct. 8, 1934, in Covington, Va., to William Frank and Frances Elizabeth Reid Pleasant. He was employed as a Laborer at Excel and a Porter at Holiday Inn for many years. He was a member of St. John's Baptist Church, St John's Masonic Lodge 6 F&AM. He enjoyed drawing and umpired Little League for 20 years.
He is survived by seven daughters, Marvis A. (Ron) DeSears, of Atlanta, Ga., Tracy (Sergio) Lopez, Elizabeth Davis and Ellen Pleasant, all of Clovis, Doretha Waites, of Atlanta, Ga., Connie Sanders, of Arlington, Texas and Francine Pleasant, of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Venoil Joseph, of Canton, Colo. and William (Margarita) Pleasant, of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Robert Pleasant, of Riverside, Calif.; five sisters, Patricia Pleasant and Alberta Pleasant, both of Covington, Va., Betty Jean Smith, of Willingsboro, N.J., Rebecca (Ira) Miller, of Richmond, Va. and Debra George, of Port Arthur, Texas; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy Jean Pleasant; two brothers, James Polk and William Frank Pleasant Jr.; and the mother of his children, Doris Lee Pleasant.
Services will be held at The Chapel at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 3, 2007. with the Rev. Joe Callahan officiating. Burial will follow at Mission Garden of Memories in Clovis. Pallbearers will be Quinn Culiver, Jamaal Williams, Andre Williams, Lawerence Bowens, Juhari Pleasant, Gerry Windom and Zack Wells.
