William Clark Obituary

William (Buddy) Forrest Clark, 85 of Tularosa, New Mexico peacefully passed from this life Thursday, June 9, 2016, at his home in Tularosa with his wife Nannie Sue and his daughter Teresa by his side.
William or Buddy as he was known to all, was born in Leland, Mississippi, Tennessee on January 12, 1931, to Joe D. and Bergie Novella Clark. He was raised in Arkansas with his two sisters, Bettye Jo and Nell and told stories of his life on the farm and growing up in the South. Buddy often spoke of the mischief and laughter that existed among him and his sisters and was always thankful for the love of his family. Buddy and his wife Nannie Sue attended the Church of Christ where he served as Deacon and then an Elder. Buddy attended the Keiser Public School where he met his future bride. Buddy joined the USAF in 1950 and married Nannie Sue Crews on December 25 later that year. Buddy and Nannie Sue went on to have four children Joe Parks (deceased), Mary Novella, Belinda Sue and Teresa Annette. After serving time in Biloxi, MS, Germany and Waco, TX, Buddy was selected to attended college at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX where he obtained his Masters Degree in Math with a major in Industrial Engineering. Buddy, with his family, moved to New Mexico and retired from the USAF as a Major while living in Alamogordo. Eventually he and his family moved to Tularosa to fulfill his dream of returning to the rural life he loved as a child. Working fulltime for the US Government as their Resident Engineer at the Holloman AFB, Buddy spent his evenings and weekends tending to his beloved pecan orchard and enjoying the country way of life he enjoyed in his youth. Buddy had a wonderful sense of humor regaling everyone with the stories of his life and sharing all the jokes he told so often they all knew them by heart. He was loved by his family and will be missed by all his family and friends.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Joe Parks Clark.
He is survived by his beloved wife Nannie Sue of Tularosa. With him near the end were his Daughter-In-Law Peggy Ann Clark, Sister-In-Law Linda Lou Allen and her husband Danny and his Brother-In-Law James Parks Crews and his wife Anell along with other family members and dear friends. In addition to his three daughters, Buddy or Papa as he was known to his ten Grandchildren (Jeramy, Tanya, Jamie, Forrest, Rebecca, Samantha, Shella, Jordon, Wendy and Timothy,), which he adored, and his nine Great Grandchildren (Dylan, Zachary, Brock, Rachel, Lyrah, Cyan, Damien, Maury and Jack) he cherished, will forever be remembered as the strength of their family. He was always there for them, nurturing and loving them to the very end.
Cremation has taken place and Memorial Service will be held in Alamogordo, New Mexico at the Hamilton ODell Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.

Our thoughts are with the family. We have known Roger and Mary Rittenberry for many years. The Barger's did not know "Buddy" we also knew a nephew Jonn Osborn. Good folks such as these do not just happen.

A very sad day for the extended Clark Clan. My parents JB & Julia, always had good words to say about cousin Buddy & Nannie Sue. I remember them visiting when I was in high school in Luxora. So sorry to learn of his passing, so glad he enriched so many lives.

So sorry to hear of Buddy's passing. Flash back memory: When the A C Clark family, James, Howard, Hezekiah, Edith & JoeAnne went to Sunday dinner at Bergie Clark's house, I remember being introduced to this pretty red haired girl as Buddy's girlfriend. There was much laughter and fun that day.
