David Alan Hust
Nov. 30, 1965 – Aug. 23, 2023

David Alan Hust was born on Nov. 30, 1965, in Muskogee. He died on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, in Darien, Ga.
After graduating from Gore High School in 1983, he joined the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, and served in Operation Desert Storm. Later in his 22-year military career he was a special ops candidate and retired as a decorated recruiting officer. After retirement, he founded and operated Mad Shark Charters, a popular fishing charter service. He also invested in real estate and owned several rental properties.
Survivors include his mother, Phyllis Hust of Sallisaw; brothers, Adam Hust of Darien and Philip Blackwood of Mount Vernon, Ill.; sisters, Gloria Burgess and Dewayne, Georgia Berton and Chris of Sallisaw, and Diane Fitzsimmons and Philip of Weatherford; children, Katharine Rule, Heather Hust and Ryan Hust of Georgia; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Hust; and birth dad, Don Blackwood.
Mr. Hust was cremated and will be buried at Fort Gibson National Cemetery at a later date. There will be no public memorial service, viewing or visitation.
