Funeral services for Joe Franklin Shadell, 88, of Muldrow, were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Lee's Chapel Assembly of God Church in Muldrow.
Burial followed at Lee's Chapel Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Shadell was born on Sept. 5, 1933, in Muldrow, to Gussie (Jackson) Shadell and Luther Melvin Shadell. He passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, in Muldrow. He married Reba Jo Childers on May 12, 1956, in Poteau.
Mr. Shadell was a graduate of Muldrow High School and Connors State College. He was a retired accountant and production planner for Hiram Walker in Fort Smith, Ark., a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and lifetime member of the Muldrow VFW. He was a member of the Cherokee Nation and Lee's Chapel Church.
Survivors are his wife, Reba Jo (Childers) Shadell of the home; daughter, Debra Fischer of North Carolina; son, Doug Shadell of the home; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two aunts, Grace Lee and Sue Brunk; uncle, Dub Jackson; pets, Cowboy and Kammarie; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Dewana Stanley and Deanne Shadell; and sisters, Audra Griffin and Opal Wright.
Active pallbearers were Ernie Fouts, Mark Hallum, Farron Brunk, Danny Morgan, Ken Cole and Dennis Huggins.
Honorary pallbearers were Jason Fricks, Richard Huggins, Joe Lee and Dustin Fouts.
