We came to know Dr. Seckinger when we joined Sharp Memorial UMC. He served on the History committee with us as we re-started the committee after years of inactivity. He was such a wealth of information and such an encouraging spirit during this process. I remember distinctly in the early days after the passing of his dear wife Jessee, (who was a member of my UMW Circle), I would call to check on him, and he would read me poems that he had written to Jessee over the years,as well as those that he had written since her passing. They were two of the most special people we have met here in the North Ga. mountains. They served God together when they were alive, and will surely be together for eternity. God Bless the family at this time. With Love & Gratitude, Deb & Don Cooper

Ernest taught me how to canoe so that I could work for the summer at Epworth By The Sea the summer of 1969. We always reconnected at Annual conference after I went into professional chaplaincy and left the state. He was a good man.

Ernest Seckinger was a great servant-leader in South Georgia Methodism. He was a wonderful camp leader and led trail hikes, canoe trips, assemblies and leadership events. He was aa friend and teacher to all he met. We loved him and will miss him.

I met Mr. Seckinger about 2 years ago while visiting his nephew David in Young Harris. We went to visit Mr Ernest in the assisted living home. He was still doing a Sunday service there at the time. I really enjoyed talking to him and we found that we had kin folk in common. I am the great niece of the late Regina and Elbert Exley. Mr. Seckinger was a fine man and a man of God. I still have a picture that was taken of us on that day. May your family be comforted by your many wonderful memories of a life well lived.

I met Ernest while he was at Stonehenge Assisted Living. My young daughter and I visited him there and then at the nursing home. I brought him pictures of his family's home site at Effingham County. He gave me his book, 70 Years of Ministry, which is at the archives of the South Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. What a wonderful servant of God he was and I am sure he is serving God even closer now. I will miss him.

TO ALL HIS FAMILY; OUR FAMILY LEARNED SO MUCH FROM REV. SECKINGER WHILE HE WAS AT CROSS KEYS UMC IN MACON. HE BAPTISED ALL MY FAMILY ON THE DAY I MOVED MY LETTER TO CROSS KEYS. HE WAS ALWAYS A GIANT TO ALL OF US. MY PRAYER IS THAT WE KEEP HIS MEMORIES ALIVE AND PREPARE TO MEET HIM AGAIN. HIS NAME IS STILL MENTIONED AT CROSS KEYS VERY OFTEN. LOVE FROM ALL THE FOREHAND FAMILY

Ernest has joined the other great Methodist ministers who grace the heavens. He was a friend of my grandfather Rev. C. A. Morrison.
