Julius Townsend Obituary
He lived the past thirty-eight years in Savannah. He attended Daniel Baptist Church and was an owner-operator with Fleet Transport. He was a gunner's mate in the US Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-six years Eunice Townsend of Savannah; children Gerald B. Townsend (Cindy) of Springfield, Ricky Townsend (Hyacinth) of Savannah, Cheryl Jeanette Kight (James) of Richmond Hill, George S. Townsend of Savannah and Hoyle Townsend (Rose) of Bloomingdale; three grandchildren Jamie T. Gray (Scott), Jennifer Kight and Jameson Blake Townsend; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Daniel Baptist Church and burial to follow at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.

Our condolences go to the Townsend family. Mr. Julius always had a nice word when I saw him. He told me we, the Brownings, and the Townsends, were all one family. "The old Midway bunch". He will be missed by many. Rest in peace old sailor / trucker.
