Dear Jennifer, Trish and Daryl: I am still in shock. When I saw Susan's picture; I just knew it was a mistake. I couldn't come to the service or even ride by funeral home. She's with her family,Melissa,Cindy, and Emory now. I am so,so,sorry. Trish, I still have the card you can gave me 17 years ago when I decided to make changes in my life. Daryl, I know your heart is broken and no words can fix it.I still have the plaque she made me:"I Hate Housework". Total shock! I know this sounds like babble, but the best I can do. We never know when God will take us home. You will all be together again one day.All my love Brenda Clemmons (Rincon, GA).

Dear Trish, Jennifer, & Family,
I send to all of you my deepest sympathy in the loss of your sister, mama, mother-in-law, grandma & companion.

It is never a happy time when you learn of someone passing away that you knew, but for the news being about a dear friend that you actually grew up with is when it hits very close to home.

Susan was such a carefree and easy person to be a friend to. She loved life, she adored her family with her whole heart, and she was a caring friend to many, many people. Her vast array of friends were from lil' folks to folks that was her mama and daddy's ages. She was a versatile person, and could be whomever she needed to be for the moment...that was one of the biggest assets she had!

I was unable to attend the funeral or see any of you at the funeral home. Trust me when I tell you that my entire heart and mind was there with each of you, but there was no physical way that I could make it at either time. However, I will see ya before long and we can sit and talk and laugh about some of the crazy things we all did with Susan. She was always the "life of the party", regardless as to where she was... another beautiful asset she portrayed to the hilt.

Please take time for yourselves to mourn so that (after all the visitors have left) you can stand strong again. Susan visited with me when she and Trish was in the process of cleaning out the house that they called home for many, many years. It made me feel great to see Susan not weeping or being sad about having to go through her mama and daddy's belongings and take care of their last business. She was so light hearted about it and was taking it all with a grain of salt. It made ME feel good for her! Even if her heart was breaking into a million pieces, she sure didn't let on that anything as bothering her... she was taking care of things that needed to be seen about, and she was still able to laugh. What a wonderful testimony that was!! :)

To each of you, I don't know what to say other than "I am so sorry" for your loss. She was something else, a friend to many, regardless as to age, race, wealth or whatever. Susan saw people for their hearts, and that is a priceless way to conduct ones self!

I wish for you all a great abundance of peace...when you start feeling down, think of one of her crazy tactics and that is sure to make you smile again! :)
With love to all of you,
Kaye Morris Shuman

Dear Daryl, Trisha and Jennifer,
I am thinking of you and hope you will find comfort in knowing what a wonderful caring soul Susan was. Just a year ago she was comforting my family when our mother was sick and had to leave us to early.
She was a great comfort to us in a very sad time. We may be sad but I know heaven is a better place with her there. She was one of the first people I met when my family moved to Effingham. I am lucky to be considered one of her friends after all these years. Sending you all love and peace.
I will miss her until we meet again.
