Wayne Alvis Florence

1932 - 2022

Mr. Wayne Alvis Florence, 90, of Elberton, passed
away on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at Gift of Faith Care in
Palm Bay, Florida.
Alvis was born on Dec. 1, 1932, in Lincolnton,
son of the late Thomas Sanders Florence
and Edythe Scott Sprouse Florence.
He lived in Elberton f or most of his life
and was a veteran having served in the
United States Navy. Mr. Florence worked
as a n insurance salesman f or 2 9 years,
was a member o f Midway United
Methodist Church in Lincolnton, and was
a Shriner.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded
in death by his daughter, Lisa Florence
Brown; b rothers, T heron F lorence,
Thomas Allen Florence and Sanders Florence; and sisters,
Mary Ellen Florence Koonts and Edythe Juanita
Florence Norman.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Florence Polniak
and her husband Ray of Cape Canaveral, Florida;
soninlaw,
Larry Brown of Watkinsville; grandsons,
Christian Polniak and his wife Teresa, Nicholas Polniak
and Taylor Brown; granddaughter, Lyndsey Polniak
Fleming and her husband Rob; four greatgrandchildren:
Tessa P olniak, Cooper P olniak, Harrison
Fleming, and Lucy Fleming; sister, Martha Florence
Jones; brother, Winston Florence and his wife Jan;
and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Entombment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park
in Elberton. A memorial service will be held at a later
date.
