Elvin Manuel Patrick

Elvin Manuel Patrick "Pat" Age 82, of Elgin passed away surrounded by his loving family, on October 22, 2010 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. He was born in Plato Center, Illinois on March 7, 1928 to Frank and Emily (Nielsen) Patrick. A Korean War veteran, he joined the Navy in 1949 and served for 4 years on the light cruiser USS Roanoke. He was a Member of the Elgin Moose Lodge 799 since 1950. He owned and operated Pat's Appliance Service until his retirement in 1995. He is survived by his wife: Patricia (Green) of Elgin, a daughter, Dona (Follmann), of Bethesda, Maryland; a son, Kevin, of Batavia, Illinois; four grandchildren: Clare, Brandon, Andrew and Ashley; two sisters Norma Jean (Campbell) of Sycamore, Illinois and Corrine (Eickstaedt), of Elgin; as well as several nieces and nephews. Elvin was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Alvera (Choitz) and Leila (Youngs), and two nephews: Charlie and Jim. The family would like to thank the nursing staff in the intensive care unit at Saint Joseph Hospital and Pastor Keith Fry of Christ the Lord Church for their compassionate support. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, 12N462 Tina Trail, Elgin. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 AM until the time of services.
