George Scheflow Obituary

Scheflow, George Robert (Bob) passed away November 18, 2010 a resident of Cockeysville, Maryland. He was born November 16, 1924 in Elgin, Illinois and was the son of George and Vera Scheflow. He graduated from Elgin High School in the class of 1943 and from Beloit College in 1950. He served in the United States Air Corps from 1943 to 1945 as a gunner on a B-29 and flew 35 Missions over Japan from Saipan. On June 16, 1941 he and his brothers, Richard and Everett, received the Boy Scouts Eagle Award which was believed to be the first time three members of the same family received the award at the same time. Surviving are his son, Alan Scheflow, his daughters, Laura Scheflow and Martha Spencer, his granddaughter, Erin Spencer, and his twin brother, Richard S. Scheflow, his niece, Susan J. Bittmann, his nephew, Douglas J. Scheflow and his sister-in-law, Florence Scheflow. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Carrie H.
