Hugo Scham Obituary
He enjoyed boating, camping, snowmobiling, and visiting and reminiscing about old times with family and friends. Hugo will be dearly missed. He was a 50+ year member of the Plumbers & Pipe Fitters Local Union # 501
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine "Ann", whom he married on August 11, 1951; his two children, Diana (Scham) Sowa of South Elgin, IL and Viktor (Linda) Scham of Elgin, IL; and four grandchildren, Korrine, Samantha, Jakob, and Kayla; his two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Alex; his brother, Karl (Waultraud) Scham; also his sisters, Laura Maier and Lydia (Willy) Schuchardt; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Theo Scham; and a sister, Alma Weidemeter.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 13, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., (Rt. 31), Elgin IL 60123, 847-741-8800. Visitation will be also on Saturday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Dear Anne, Diana, Sammy and Victor.
It's not hard to imagine Hugo and my dad sitting around talking Polish which my dad loved to do. I will miss that and their friendship as I also miss Hugo.
