Ruth C. Brewbaker

Brewbaker, Ruth C. 92, of Elgin, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in her home. She was born June 2, 1920 in Bloomingdale Township, the daughter of Martin and Sophie Harmening Brackman. She had been a resident of Elgin for over 60 years. She had been employed at the Elgin National Watch Co. during W.W.II before her marriage to Daniel M. Brewbaker in 1949. After her son was born, she stayed at home for several years and raised him. She then when to work for Brody Coat Co. before becoming employed at Sherman Hospital in the Instrument Sterilization Dept. for 17 years before retiring to care for her husband. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Elgin for over 60 years and the American Legion Post 57 Auxiliary. Surviving is her son, Daniel M. Brewbaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Daniel. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00A.M., Saturday, March 2nd, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Elgin, with Rev. Olin Sletto officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
