Michael Fleming Obituary
The oldest of four children growing up in Cokato, MN, Mike often spoke of his idyllic childhood where he developed a passion for the outdoors. His lifelong interests included hunting, fishing, gardening and basketball.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Cloud State University and his Master's from Oklahoma University. He was hired to write the science department curriculum for the Elk River High School and went on to teach it for 17 years. Many of these years he also worked as a Realtor in the Elk River area. In 1986, he pursued his interest in the financial industry as a Certified Financial Planner until he retired in 2016.
Throughout his life, he was very active in his church as Elder, board member, and Bible teacher. He also volunteered much time in many community organizations.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 32 years, Connie; daughters Amy (Kevin) Sadowski and Hattie Hillukka; stepdaughters Kim (Kai) Pedersen and Colleen (Glenn) Schroeder; grandchildren Jack, Matthew, Grant, Luke, Mandy, Jacob, Haylee (Tyler) and Nick; two great-grandchildren William and Noah; sister Sharon Kennedy; brother Hayden (Donna) Fleming; sister-in-law Paula Fleming and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents Ralph and Roberta Fleming and brother Patrick Fleming.
A celebration of Mike's life will take place on January 14, 2023 at Gateway Church, 13913 185th Ave. NW, Elk River, MN (763-441-3368). Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with the service at noon. Lunch to follow.

I was blessed to receive prayer from Mike up at the front of church on a few occasionsover the years. He and Connie were a beautiful team praying together and were comforting during my struggles.
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
