Carolyn Ruth Ronnebaum, 93, of rural Cassopolis, Michigan, passed to her rest Feb. 3, 2023, at Hanson Hospice House, Stevensville, after an illness. She was born Dec. 1, 1929, in Dayton, Kentucky, the daughter of Elmis and Ruth (Blyly) Atkins, and was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Edwardsburg. She did a few clerical jobs, one being payroll clerk for White Hall Lab in Elkhart, and worked in the start of computer technology as a key punch operator.
Carolyn was married Dec. 30, 1950, in Bellevue, Kentucky, to Albert Paul Ronnebaum, and he passed Jan. 3, 1988. Surviving are their children, Thomas Albert (Elaine) Ronnebaum of Orion, Michigan, Bruce Anthony (Sindy) Ronnebaum of Cassopolis, and Karen Ruth Ronnebaum of Cassopolis. There are three grandchildren, Katy Ronnebaum, Josh (Boyd) Ronnebaum and Jon (Samantha) Ronnebaum, and three great-grandchildren, Ace Gaines, Ellie Ronnebaum-Gaines and Vada Ronnebaum. Family who preceded Carolyn in passing are her parents, her beloved husband, Albert, and a sister, Beatrice Amanns.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday, Feb. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 W. Main St., Edwardsburg. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 24832 US-12 East, Edwardsburg, with one hour of visitation before the service at the church. Officiating will be Father Raj Nathan, MSFS, pastor of the church. Interment will be in Birch Lake Cemetery, Calvin Township.
