NAPPANEE - Edna Schwartz, 91, of Nappanee, died peacefully at 4:30 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021, at her home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1929, to Joe T. and Ida (Miller) Slabaugh. On Nov. 11, 1948, she married John M. Schwartz. They lived in Holy Matrimony for 70 years, 3 months and 29 days.
Mrs. Schwartz lived her lifetime in this area. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church
Surviving are her children, Homer (Etta Fern) Schwartz, Goshen. Larry (Nancy) Schwartz, New Paris, Ernest (Betty) Schwartz, Howard (Velma) Schwartz, Dennis Schwartz, all of Nappanee, John (Esther) Schwartz, Bremen, Etta Hochstetler, Owen Schwartz, Harley Schwartz, all of Nappanee; 36 grandchildren, 113 great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Miller, Dunnegan, Missouri; and brothers, Tobe (Elizabeth) Slabaugh, Chris (Alma) Slabaugh, both of Nappanee, Les (Ann) Slabaugh, Sarasota, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandsons, Steven and Jeremy Schwartz; great-grandson, Myron Schwartz; son-in-law, Steve Hochstetler; and sisters, Wilma and Ida.
Family and friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, and after noon Wednesday, April 28, at the family residence, 9423 W 1350 N, Nappanee. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29, also at the family residence. Home Ministry of the Old Order Amish Church will officiate and burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
