GOSHEN - Elmer J. Yoder, 84, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born April 1, 1937, in Nappanee to Jonas and Nancy (Slabaugh) Yoder.
On Oct. 7, 1961, he married Carolyn Yontz. She died Feb. 7, 2021.
Survivors include two daughters, Kaylene (Alan) Ediger, Goshen and Janeen (Rick Ryll) Chrispyn, Edwardsburg, Michigan; a son, Brian (Kathy) Yoder; two grandchildren, Erin Chrispyn and Lucas Ediger; three sisters, Mary Chupp, Martha Miller and Lizzie Hochstetler, all of Nappanee; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Weston Ediger and three brothers, Edwin, Melvin and Ivan Yoder.
Mr. Yoder was a member of Sunnyside Mennonite Church. He enjoyed coffee with friends. He retired from the manufactured housing industry.
Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Sunnyside Mennonite Church, where a 5 p.m. funeral service will be conducted. Pastors Charles and Terri Geiser and Amy Kratzer will officiate. Sunnyside Mennonite Church will require masks be worn. The service will be available with a Zoom link posted at www.yoderculpfuneralhome.com.
Memorial donations may be given to ADEC, Sunnyside Mennonite Church or Weston Ediger Memorial Fund.
