Jacob E. Showalter, 73, of Millersburg, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at South Bend Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1949, in Goshen to William F. and Phyllis J. (Bollinger) Showalter.
Survivors include a daughter, Nanette (Scott) Galloway, Goshen; a son, Andrew Showalter, Goshen; seven grandchildren, Chad Galloway, Trace (Rain) Harrison, Bryce, Lane and Nate Galloway, Dalton Showalter and Gretchen Showalter; and four great-grandchildren.
Other survivors include his mother, Phyllis Showalter, Millersburg; brothers, Jerry (Ann) Showalter, Millersburg and Jay Showalter, Bloomington; a sister, Janet Showalter, Millersburg; and former wife, Judy (Stutsman) Showalter.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Marcy Showalter, and a sister-in-law, Lissa Hunt.
Mr. Showalter was a constant worker, driving trucks for Fidler Concrete and the Keebler Company. He also worked for the Dairy Farmers of America and owned his own tree, grooming and removal business.
Jacob was a member of River Oaks Community Church, the Teamsters, and the Elkhart County Exchange Club.
Visitation will be Monday, March 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. Pastor Scott Tilley will officiate.
Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial gifts may be directed to Feed the Children, Elkhart, or Adult and Teen Challenge, Elkhart.
