Julia Louise Galbreth

1950 - 2021

Julia "Julie" L. (Bonfiglio) Galbreth, 71, of Elkhart, passed away with her loving husband in arms on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021.

Julie was born on Feb. 13, 1950, in Elkhart to the late Frank Bonfiglio and Jean (Andre') Andrews. She married the love of her life, Thomas "Bert" Galbreth on May 23, 1981, in Elkhart.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Harold Andrews; and brother, Daniel Bonfiglio.

Julie is survived by her husband, Bert Galbreth; children, Carey (Corey) Chesser of Cincinnati, Ohio; Anthony "Tony" (Ann) Black of Elkhart and Andrew "Andy" Galbreth (Brooke Griffin) of Edwardsburg, Michigan; sister, Lori (Bob) Davis of Jimtown; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Julie graduated from Elkhart High School, Class of 1968, was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and Elkhart Moose Lodge 599. Julie could be found on her boat and dancing at Pete's of Simonton Lake. She was a fantastic cook known for her homemade spaghetti. Julie was a huge movie buff and enjoyed watching among the company of family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoyed adult coloring. Julie was a "bubbly" yet strong willed and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Most of all, her family was her world and Julie always put other's before herself.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Julie will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St., Elkhart, with Father Jason Freiburger officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass from 10 to 11 a.m.

Per Julie's request, cremation was chosen. Billings Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
