Mary Ellen Otto, 80, passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Esther's Hospice House, Elkhart.
She was born May 30, 1945, in Arthur, Illinois, one of five children born to Levi and Ella (Beachy) Otto. They preceded her in death along with her step-mother, Annie (Miller) Otto; and sister Martha Fern Otto, brother Milton Otto and Larry Otto, son of Levi and Annie.
Survivors include a sister, Katie Otto Jackson, Sturgis, Michigan; brothers, Emory (Idella) Otto, Lititz, Pennsylvania, and Lester (Sherri) Otto, Bristol; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen was an active participant with ADEC and Love Way, therapeutic horseback riding. She enjoyed bowling, listening to gospel music and collecting stuffed animals.
Mary Ellen had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed sharing it with family and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at Salem Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall, 23984 C.R. 46, New Paris. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service.
Burial will follow at Salem Mennonite Church cemetery, followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.
