Michael Cripe Obituary

Michael E. Cripe, 84, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023.

Mike was born on Dec. 2, 1938, in Elkhart, Indiana, to the late Max E. and Ruth Cripe. Mike is survived by his devoted companion of 50 years, Carole Kulinski, his daughters Cathy (Scott) Conrad of Elkhart, Indiana, Chris Banks of Ethridge, Tennessee, and Lori Cripe of Cape Coral, Florida. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Doug. He was a 1956 graduate of Concord High School and received a Master of Accountancy degree in 1962 from Indiana University. Mike had a career in Accounting and Business Management in various executive roles.

Mike enjoyed traveling with the love of his life, Carole, and in later years with many of his grandchildren. He was a season ticket holder for the Chicago Bulls and enjoyed many games with his children and grandchildren. "Chicago Mike" had a passion for poker and loved playing in poker tournaments around the country for over 40 years. Mike was a loving partner, father and grandfather. His phone calls and stories will be missed by his family.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated and a celebration of his life will occur at a later time in his hometown of Elkhart, Indiana.
