Patricia (Heiden) LaPierre, 84, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023. A daughter of Elkhart, a February angel has been called to heaven.
Pat has been bedridden the past five years with dementia under the excellent care in the home of Jessica Borja. Pat was born in Elkhart on Feb. 23, 1939, to Carl and Phyllis Heiden and lived in Elkhart her entire life
Pat graduated from Elkhart Central High School in the Class of 1957. She worked for Phillips Industries for 39 years. For 26 years she was pricing coordinator at Dexter Axle and for 13 years she was office manager at Ventline in Bristol, Indiana.
Pat and her husband spent many enjoyable hours in Aruba and Canada. She had many wonderful friends in both places and in Canada she caught all the big fish. Pat was also a charter member of Alpha Pi chapter of the Beta Chi Sorority for many years. She enjoyed many hours of fun with her sorority sisters.
Pat is survived by her husband, John LaPierre; her sister-in-law, Pat Heiden; her neice, Pam Krempetz; and her cousin, Janice Lukens.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Phyllis Heiden, and her father, Carl Heiden; her brother, Max Heiden (2003), and her grandson, Jeffrey Heiden (1978); her uncle, Dean Zimmerman, and her aunt, Jenny Zimmerman.
There will be a visitation on Friday, Aug. 18, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2 p.m.
