Ray D. Lantzer, 87, of Plymouth, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022. He was born on Jan. 25, 1935, in Goshen to Alvin and Catherine (Shantz) Lantzer. He married Pat Leist on Aug. 4, 1957. She passed away on Dec. 12, 1996.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Shaffer; his son, Steve Lantzer; two grandchildren: Tracy (Tim) White and Kristi (Blake) Miller; six great-grandchildren: Brianna (Donovan) Schroeder, Brendan (Alexis) White, Preston White, Landon Wales, Leslie and Brenna Miller; a brother, Lee Lantzer; and a sister, Ruth Hershberger.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pat, and his second wife, Dorothy.
Ray was a maintenance man at area RV factories. He was a volunteer for many years on the Concord Township Volunteer Fire Department, where he was an arson investigation specialist. He liked to garden. He enjoyed fixing things and tinkering – he was always working on a project.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, and 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Nov. 4, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN 46561.
A funeral service in his honor will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, at noon at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
