Scott A. Conrad, 67, of Elkhart passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025.
He was born Aug. 20, 1958, in Elkhart to the late Robert Conrad and Marina (Smith) Crocker. Scott was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Conrad.
Scott began his career working for Skyline Industries where he would spend the first 24 years. He then went to work in the steel industry, most recently at TK Steel where he spent over a decade as the purchasing agent.
On Oct. 16, 1982, Scott married the love of his life and best friend, Catherine Cripe. Cathy carries on his legacy along with two sons, Landon (Katrina) Conrad of South Bend and Austin (Courtney) Conrad of Fort Wayne, and four grandchildren, Quinn, Everett, Sloane and Audra. Scott is also survived by his sister, Beverly (Rick) Miller of Elkhart, and his uncle and aunt, Patricia (Andrew) Higgs of England.
Visitation for Scott will be held on Friday, Oct. 31 from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. There will also be a period of visitation on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service at noon. Mike Brouillette, a longtime, close friend of Scott's, will officiate. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Concord Dollars for Scholars at concord.dollarsforscholars.org.
