RONDA — Mrs. Bennie Bernice Absher Luffman, 84, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016. Mrs. Luffman was born June 24, 1932, in Surry County to Benjamin Blaine and Collie Cockerham Absher. Mrs. Luffman retired from Elkin Furniture and was a member of Little Elkin Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Luffman; a son, Bobby Franklin Luffman; a brother, Edward Absher; and four sisters, Bessie Settle, Ruby Darnell, Betty Jane Luffman, Bonnie Oliver. Survivors include three sons, Roger Luffman and wife Brenda of Boonville, Clyde Luffman and fiancée Rita King of Ronda, Michael Luffman of Winston-Salem; 10 grandchildren, Jamie Luffman Brown, Holly Hutchens, Brandon Luffman, Heather Luffman, Deanna Schipman, Stephanie Murphy, Jeanette Hill, Robert Luffman, Kristin Bruce, Kaley Luffman; three foster grandchildren, Jennifer Casstevens, Willie Allen, Charlie-Ann Allen; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Little Elkin Baptist Church with the Rev. Gwen Anderson and the Rev. Wayne Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service. Flowers will be appreciated, or memorials may be made to Little Elkin Baptist Church Building Fund. Online condolences may be made at www.elkinfuneralservice.com.
