Chris (Christina Dee) Jorgensen, 63, left this world suddenly on Monday, December 30, 2013. She has joined her mother Bobbie Gibbs and her father David Bilbao. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Chris was born in Elko, Nevada, on July 16, 1950. She attended grade school in Tuscarora, Nevada, and grew up on the Quarter Circle S Ranch. The family moved to the Six Bar Ranch and she attended high school in Elko. Chris had a love affair with fast horses and lady luck most of her life. In earlier days that love took her from Nevada to Oklahoma and Kentucky. With a growing family and many life changes Chris moved back to Elko and settled in Spring Creek, Nevada, with her husband Larry Jorgensen. Chris was a card-dealer at local casinos for years, and her love for horses and the racetrack meant she spent many a year working the pari-mutual windows at the Elko County Fairgrounds. At the time that she left us her passion had become being a full-time Grandma and supporting her beloved Dallas Cowboys.
Chris is survived by her husband Larry Jorgensen, brother David (Connie) Bilbao of Livingston, Montana, sister Linda (Ray) Ansotegui of Livingston, Montana, brother Vicente (Pam) Bilbao of Livingston, Montana, brother Paul (Robin) Bilbao of Oklahoma, sister Donna (Ken) Harriman of Elko, Nevada, brother Alan Jordan of Dayton, Nevada. Her children Annie (Tom) Thomas of Spring Creek, Nevada, Randy Etcheverry (Diane) of Battle Mountain, Nevada, Larry Etcheverry (Brandy) of Billings, Montana, E.D. Gaylor (Marlene) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jacque Hite (Jason) of Pocatello, Idaho, John Gaylor of Elko, Nevada, and Stephanie Jorgensen of Spring Creek, Nevada. Her grandchildren: Randy, Aubrey, Makenzie, Jaxon, Kody, Kamron, Kassidy and Phoenix, great-grandchildren Ashton, Brad and Trent.
We will be gathering to honor and celebrate her life on January 18, 2014, at the Lamoille School House at 4:00 p.m. We are deeply saddened by the loss of our wife, mother, sister, grandma and friend. However, we invite anyone who was touched by Chris with her outstanding sense of humor, fierce loyalty and unwavering love to join us on this day.
