Daniel Labarry Obituary

Daniel Raymond Labarry passes at his Eureka home.

Daniel Raymond, a native of Eureka, Nevada, passed away November 7, 2010, at his residence in Eureka at the age of 57.

He was born in Ely, Nevada, May 17, 1953, and raised in Eureka. He was raised on the Labarry ranches and graduated from Eureka County High School in 1971. He graduated from Northern Nevada Community College in 1975. He worked at the Windfall Mine, Buckhorn Mine, and was working at Barrick's Bald Mountain Mine at the time of his death.

Dan always enjoyed having a good barbeque with family and friends. Some of his favorite past time activities were to go hunting, fishing, or taking a long drive aimlessly in the country. He loved working at the mine, as much as the people he worked with. Even till his last days one of his biggest concerns was when he was going to be able to go back to work. Dan was blessed with a heart that cared for many. Although, it may seem to soon, he always said, "This is my destiny".

Survivors include his wife, Karen of Eureka; son, Adrian of San Diego, CA; daughters, Maureen (Chris)Torres of Eureka; and Rayna (Luke) Baca of Reno; and three grand-daughters, Marissa and Kaitlyn Torres and Aubrie Baca. He is also survived by three sisters, Denise Miral, Odette Daniels, and Jeanette Martinez, and one brother, David Labarry. Dan was preceeded in death by his parents Raymond and Mary Jean Labarry.

A rosary and funeral service will be held Friday, November 12, 2010 at St. Brendan's Catholic Church in Eureka. Burial will be at the Eureka Catholic cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Eureka Opera House.

Labarry family, I was shocked to hear about Danny's passing. People rarely make an impact on others lives as much as Danny made on mine, in school, and afterwards. He will be missed. Allen Sabey

I was very blessed when I was 11 years old. This wonderful person came into my life, Little did I know that I had so little time with my brother-in-law. I did how ever make the best of what little time. Danny the kids and I always played together. He is my kids favorite uncle and I think it was only because he loved family so much. He always did want to be part of the fun. I miss him more then he will ever know. I thank his family for sharing him with us, we are all better for having known him. Some day we will meet again, I just hope I will be worthy. Love Roxi

To the LaBarry Family – I am so sorry to hear of your loss! Danny and I were in the same small class in Eureka – started out in first grade and graduated together in 1971. My special memory includes our claim to fame as Junior Prom King and Queen in 1970. I will always remember Danny’s gentle and kind nature, his rosy cheeks and big smile for everyone. Danny will remain in my memory and my heart forever. Sue Manz Graham

Danny's family,
I was deeply saddened by the news of Danny's untimely passing. One of the problems of living far away you tend to think people are doing okay and will always be there when you do go home. He will be part of my memories of home forever, I had so many good times with him growing up I can't even begin to tell you what a wonder friend and person he was to me."God Bless" you and comfort you during this sad, sad time, and know Danny will live forever in many, many hearts.
