James Blanchard
August 29, 1957- January 26, 2021
James Blanchard of Orovada, NV passed peacefully January 26, 2021 at Renown Regional Medical Center after a short battle with cirrhosis.
James was born in Bakersfield, CA August 29 1957, but grew up in Orovada NV. James graduated from McDermott High School. After high school James joined the Army and served for many years.
After discharging from the military James met the love of his life on the last train through Elko, NV. James married Karen Linville and they had two daughters, building a life he loved in Elko working at Newmont Gold Mine.
James was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and was known for his kind and giving nature, never having met a stranger.
James is survived by his father, Delmas Blanchard of Orovada NV; sister, Sherry Blanchard of Boise ID; daughters, Devan (Joseph) Overbay of Richmond, KY; Jordan (Ryan) Evans of Gillette, WY and six grandchildren Dominick, Adrinna, Nathan, Chandler, Zoey, and Harley.
James is preceded in death by his Mother, Freida Blanchard.
In lieu of flowers and donations his daughters ask that you please donate to a Veterans Association of your choice in honor of James.

Very sorry to hear James died. We were friends in 8th Grade at Bowman Elementary School, Auburn , Ca. We went to rodeos together. Lots of fun and Great memories. Sorry I lost contact with him.

Jim was a friend and co worker at Newmont. He always talked about Orvada and the hunting and fishing. He was always a great person to talk to and see in town. A true Nevadan...RIP
