Jay Michael Cady
December 29, 1960 – September 25, 2021
On Saturday September 25th 2021 our beloved Father Jay Michael Cady passed away at the young age of 60, at his home in Crescent Valley Nevada. Jay was born to Norman Cady and Belinda "Bendi" Matelski on December 29th 1960 in Chippewa County Michigan. Jay was preceded in death by his father and the love of his life his fiancée Tonya Milovar. He was survived by all of his children who he loved wholeheartedly, Bree Cady, Blake Cady, Levi Menicucci, and Kennedy Cady as well as his stepchildren Jericho Wilson and Jackson Wilson who he loved and thought of every bit as his own. He was also survived by Kevin Kory Huffman who he thought of as a Son and best of friend.
Jay was the kind of guy who if you didn't know how he felt about you that would be your own fault. He was brash yet real. He would do anything for you if you were lucky enough to call him a friend. He loved hunting and fishing. Just a few weeks before his passing he took his youngest son Kennedy on a fishing trip of a lifetime to Alaska, making memories to never be forgotten. Jay worked at Nevada Gold Mines, formerly Cortez, for roughly thirteen years. His workmates lovingly called him J-Bird. He worked at Mill Maintenance where he made many lifelong friends, namely Kory Huffman who was always there for him through thick and thin.
In Lieu of flowers we ask that you make a donation to his youngest Son Kennedy Cady, an account has been set up for Kennedy at Greater Nevada Credit Union in Elko, NV. Account number 886469826. Kennedy is the youngest son and is a senior at Spring Creek High School. Donations will go to further his education as Kennedy plans on going to Great Basin Community College for two years then on to the University of Reno Nevada. Donations will be greatly appreciated!
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 13th at the Maverick Casino in Elko NV from 2pm to 5pm where Hors D'oeuvres will be served. All will get a chance to get up and say a few words and share a few memories of Jay. His sons Kennedy and Kory will host and are truly looking forward to a good laugh along with a few tears I'm sure!
