John Hoehne Obituary
May 9, 1991 - June 1, 2025
John William Hoehne was born May 9, 1991 in Elko, Nev. to Keith and Lisa Hoehne. He passed away from an aneurism in the University of Utah Hospital on June 1, 2025.
John grew up in Eureka, Nev. and graduated from Eureka High School and University of Nevada Reno. He worked for Nevada Division of Forestry as a Wildland Firefighter and later as a Crew Boss. John traveled throughout Nevada and California on assignments. He then transferred to Nevada Department of Transportation and was employed as an Engineering Tech 3 in the Winnemucca Office. John loved his family, job, co-workers, motorcycle, dog, and being outdoors. He had a strong passion for his telescopes and astronomy. He was a long-time member of Phi Delta Theta and Knights of Columbus.
He leaves behind his parents; brother, Brian Hoehne; niece, Olivia; nephew, Evan of Elko, Nev; grandmother, Carolyn Sigrist of Farina, Ill., and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. John was preceded in death by a sibling, a niece, and grandparents. John was an outgoing, caring Christian man who will be missed by everyone who knew him. A funeral Mass will be held on June 17, 2025 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elko, Nev. at 10:30 a.m. Rosary at 10 a.m. Luncheon in Mater Dei Hall following the mass. Memorials can be made to the St. Paul's Catholic Church in care of Knights of Columbus Winnemucca Council in Winnemucca, NV or donor's choice.

John was a very special person at the Eureka County Swimming Pool where he worked as a lifeguard during the summers when he was at UNR. He was always funny, sharing his particular views about certain people and the world around him. John will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Hoehne family we are in mourning with you. We loved John. He will be missed. We will always remember the days when you were a young boy listening to the Pony Express practicing in y'all's basement. Prayers are sent from The Cruz's in Tx
