Phylicia Jones Martinez left this world Sunday, September 27th. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and musical notes that float through the air.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Martinez Jr., her daughter Aviahna Wilson, father Rick Jones (Shelly), dad Phil Garfield, her mother Cindy Wilson (Ben), sisters Janine Jones (Kade Anderson), Lauren Cluff, Tawny (Luke) Farley, brothers Ricky (Shelly) Jones, Lance (Vanessa) Cluff, Kolton Jones, her step children, Elisha (Adrian)Erivez, Vanessa Martinez (Alex), Marissa Martinez, Joe Martinez III and 7 beautiful granddaughters.
Anyone who met Philycia couldn't help but be touched by her infectious love of laughter. Always ready with a witty remark, she was full of a mischievous wit that kept those around her constantly entertained. Her beauty and intelligence were passed on to her greatest love, Aviahna. As proud of her as her family was, she was equally proud of her daughter and Phylicia's spirit will live on in Avi's smile and mischievous charm. When the leaves fall in Lamoille each September, we will remember her love of the outdoors, her sense of adventure and will look to the sky to feel her light shining down.
In lieu of flowers, please respect Phyilica's desire to give Aviahana the best education possible and make a contribution to her educational fund, established at Wells Fargo Bank. Her family invites her friends and family to join us in a memorial service at Camp Lamoille on Sunday, October 4, at 11:00 AM. Please celebrate your own families and take a moment to tell those you love how you feel.
