Ruby Dexter Obituary

Ruby Earlene Dexter

August 5, 1932 – March 10, 2021

Ruby Earlene Dexter, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, joined her loved ones in Heaven on March 10, 2021. She left an everlasting mark on the world, always spreading kindness and humor with her one of a kind smile. Earlene never met a stranger and genuinely enjoyed meeting new people.

Born August 5, 1932 in Delta Colo. to Graton and Mary Eason, Earlene was the eldest of six children. The family, including her brothers Grant, Don and Bob and her sisters, Jeanne and JoAnn eventually settled in Wilder, Idaho where she graduated from Wilder High School in 1950. In 1951, she married the love of her life, Leland Wayne Dexter. Together, Earlene and Lee had three beautiful daughters, MaryAnne, Ruth and Rebecca. After her sister Jeanne passed away, she and Lee raised her daughters, Tammy and Kim, as their own. Earlene and Lee also helped raise her nieces Leesa, Laura, Cassie and Debbie.

Earlene worked many years in the banking industry. She spent the later part of her life in Crescent Valley, NV and Winnemucca, NV working for N.A. Degerstrom. She loved to bowl and competed on many leagues, she enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and gardening. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Earlene is survived by daughters, MaryAnne Muniz, Rebecca Davis, Tammy Zahradnicek and Kim Harwood; brothers Grant Eason (Donna), Don Eason (Sam) and Bob Eason (Colleen), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Graton and Mary Eason; sisters, Jeanne Eason and JoAnn Sappington (Don), husband Leland Dexter; daughter, Ruth Bicandi (Pat) and grandsons, Richard Davis, Nathan Muniz and Scott Zamora.

Earlene was passionate about several charities including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriners International, ASPCA and Wounded Warriors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in her name to one of these organizations.

Graveside services will be held on April 10, 2021 at Wilder Cemetery in Wilder, Idaho at 11 AM. The family would like to invite family and friends to gather at the Basque Center in Homedale, Idaho immediately following the service.

No one could ever be missed more than our Earlene! She once posted on Facebook: "When someone you love is now in Heaven, there is a bit of Heaven now in our home."
